Iron is a key part of this treatment, plus other additions to the mix. This is because iron plays a crucial part in the synthesis of chlorophyll.

Iron does not move easily around the plant, hence frequent applications may be required to correct iron deficiencies (chlorosis) experienced as paler or yellowing in younger leaves.
