Winter Lawncare Treatments
Moss Control and Winter Protection
Unfortunately, the climate in the Westcountry is ideally suited to moss growth in lawns. By late autumn and early winter, moss is once again regaining a foothold in our lawns, which is why moss treatment at this time of the year is part of our professional lawn treatment programme.
Our specialist annual winter treatment visit stops moss in its tracks. This gives the lawn grasses more of the available space, oxygen and nutrients to come through the winter in good health, ready for spring growth.
When we treat your moss, it will turn black and shrink in size, then gradually disappear. It can either be left to disappear or raked or scarified out at the appropriate time.
This treatment also “hardens” off the grass, helping to withstand disease and winter conditions, and helping the lawn get through winter in the best shape for spring.

Early Spring
It’s hard to predict spring weather patterns each year. Our timed, slow release fertiliser provides the right balance of nutrients in just the right quantity, ready for when the ground warms up, getting your lawn established early for the perfect colour, thickness and appearance. The advanced fertiliser formulation avoids excessive growth but ensures the lawn thickens up quickly after the stresses of winter.
